2nd Annual Alumni Brunch: (RSVP) The second annual alumni brunch will be held in the culinary arts cafe on Leto's campus on April 6th, 2010. We will meet at 10:00am and the cost will be $10. Proceeds will go to Leto's culinary arts program and the Alumni
Association. We encourage all that wish to attend to use the RSVP link above. Adgenda items will include: BRUNCH!, nomination of officers, formalization of the wall of fame, alumni guest speakers and more. See you there!
Here is a wrap up of the brunch from '09: The first annual Alumni Brunch was a huge success. In one meeting we have formalized the Leto Alumni Association and raised $100 toward the establishment of a scholarship and $500 in membership dues. The Leto culinary arts team provided an outstanding meal and was the benefit of
another $300 raised by the $10 ticket prices.
Derek Stewart ('91) makes a presentation to all of the alumni at the brunch. He has been selected as the President of the Alumni Association. |
Deborah Prill ('78) serves as treasurer and collected monies for the brunch, scholarships and membership. |
Homecoming October 23rd, 2009: The Alumni Dinner, School Tour and Homecoming football game was a great success. It looks as though we are starting a strong tradition of Alumni involvement as we had almost
100 alumni in attendance. We had Alumni from representing the class of 1967 all the way to 2008!
Here is a complete list of events:
The Alumni Association held a school tour that started at 5:15 and detailed Leto's growth from its original construction through the renovations and expansions of '69, '72, '76, '78, '82, '89 and most recently '01.
At 6:00, we had our first annual Alumni Dinner. We raised $800 for our culinary arts program who catered the event. We had our second bi-annual meeting.
The homecoming game kicked-off at Mahin-Hoffman Stadium. Unfortunately the Falcons fell in defeat, but it was sure great to see the Alumni wearing their RED, GOLD and WHITE in support of the team!

The October 2010 gathering is called “The Class of 1970 turns 40”. Exact date is not known because we are waiting for the 2010-2011 school calendar to be available. The gathering will be a weekend affair beginning on the Friday of the Leto Homecoming Football Game. We hope to participate in the Alumni school tour, have dinner in the school cafeteria and attend the Homecoming Football Game on the selected Friday of our gathering. Saturday will be casual with dinner & dancing. More detailed information will be available once we have an exact date for the Homecoming Football Game.
We have a group on Facebook. Search Leto HS 1970. Our group is the one with the gold background and red falcon head as the picture.
Gym Painting Started Michael McManus ('91) spent his Christmas break in the Falcon's nest. He repainted an area that had fallen into disrepair. "The paint was peeling off the wall that said Falcon Pride. The logo looked more like a chicken than a Falcon.", said McManus. "I wanted to do something about it during volleyball season, but I did not have the time until Christmas.", he added. The wall looks great and marks another contribution from a former Falcon.
