Leto Beautification Day
On Saturday April 25, over 200 students, teachers and parents planted trees, red, yellow and purple croutons, hibiscus and bougainvillea around Leto’s campus. Planting ran from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and culminated with a cookout; Mr. Victor Fernandez, Leto’s new principal, served as master chef.
Over 80 plants and trees were donated, as well as large quantities of mulch. Anyone in the community was invited to help in Leto’s efforts. “This is just the beginning,” said Roohi Abidi, science teacher and one of the organizers of the event. “We plan on making this an ongoing project. Not only are we doing this to beautify the school, but it’s a way to show our students and our community how important it is to be good stewards of our planet.”
